The Teacher Collaborative is a community for pre-K through grade twelve educators from across Massachusetts where they connect, learn, innovate, and lead together. Our mission is to support educators to reimagine the profession and ultimately transform learning for all students to be more excellent and equitable.
We offer professional development opportunities that strengthen teachers’ skills to better collaborate across classrooms and schools to solve common challenges that are relevant to many educators. Our core program is called Co-Labs, where teachers from different schools come together to participate in a series of workshops and ultimately create resources that are shared teacher-to-teacher. We believe that teachers have untapped expertise and unique perspectives on common challenges that can and should be used to improve teaching and learning in all classrooms and schools.
With the support of the Hestia Fund, we will run a yearlong Co-Lab for Leadership that will bring together high performing high school teachers who will share their expertise with one another and develop shareable resources for both teachers and students. We will share their work via The Teacher Collaborative Podcast, within our Educator Exchange virtual community space, and via events and social media.
This is Hestia's first year funding The Teacher Collaborative. The $25,000 grant will enable the expansion of the Co-Lab for Leadership program.
