EdVestors is a school improvement organization that combines strategic philanthropy, education expertise, and implementation support to help schools create the conditions for change in their institution. Since 2002, EdVestors has worked to increase the number of public schools in Boston delivering dramatically improved educational outcomes for all students. Our work at scale focuses on collaborative, sustainable efforts through: BPS Arts Expansion, to expand equitable access to arts education in the classroom; Zeroing in on Math, to bolster math pedagogy in middle grades math; and Career Pathways, to support and prepare Boston students for postsecondary and career opportunities.
Through generous support from the Hestia Fund, EdVestors is able to expand our Career Pathways work at the school- and system-level. We work with Boston public high schools to plan and develop new pathways in high demand areas such as computer science, engineering, and biotechnology. Our goal is to make high school relevant, engaging, and expand opportunities for students to explore these high growth industries. We also work to deepen the quality of existing career pathways and ensure all Boston students develop the skills needed to identify, navigate towards, and realize their college and career readiness goals. This work is done concurrently with our efforts to create longstanding sustainability through strategic planning with school district leaders, grant partners, and community organizations and stakeholders.
This is the first year of Hestia funding for EdVestors. The $20,000 grant will support the Career Pathways Initiative.
